Two weeks until my big trip and I am dealing with dentists. I had an emergency appointment the very next day after my return from Mexico. The doctor thinks my last wisdom tooth is causing the pain, so I scheduled to get it extracted next Tuesday - 4 days before my insurance expires... Perfect timing!

Congratulations for the very interesting blog, with really outstanding pictures. I am a traveler for more than 30 years, and I visited México several times. The visit you are planing to do to south america, I have done it already, but Brasil was on my package. South America without Brasil is Rome without the Pope. Brasil is the splendor of south america, where all type of landscape is possible, and a melting pot of cultures. An Emperor on this continent. Chile is really very nice, spectacular, but different from Brasil. Peru is "nice", but the usual stuff, Machu Pichu and really not so much more..., being Lima a very unpleasant and dangerous place. Equador disappointing. Colombia, maybe for someone that is maybe looking for the most beautiful women in south america,:), but ,very "standard", dangerous country... Argentina and Uruguai are also a must, being Argentina the option in case of being not possible with Uruguai. Paraguai is hopeless....
Good luck and safe trip, and thanks for reading my comment.

thanks for stopping by! i hope to have even better pictures later in a year.
as for Brazil - i will get a visa and will see how it goes. i am flexible and will decide as i go in what country i want to spend my time.
you did surprise me about Ecuador though!
Hi. Many thanks for your answer, and is a pleasure to stop by high quality sites. Well, about Equador, and besides the fact that Equador has now a "pro-Chavez" president, like Ortega of Nicarágua, and many others that are "pro-chavez" until the day that crude oil of Venuzuela stop flowing to their countries.., Equador is nice for the volcanos and obviously for GalapagosIslands. Knowing this,.., well nothing more to say..A country should be like Brasil, Chile, Argentina, where people are a "living interface" for to know the nature, the country itself, a challenge on diversity. Well, I hope you understand me..I saw a map with a route going viathe south of africa. You are planning to go there? You should try also the "The Maia trail", which is Guatemala, Yucatan and Belize...Do not be surprised with my thoughs..., I am getting old...:)

Krasavitsa,
You should add Pachuca, Mexico, to your plans. It's a diamond in the rough -- full of intrigue, adventure and romance for those brave enough to wander off the beaten trail. I know somebody there who would enjoy showing you around.
Even if you're not brave enough, you should write him an email for some good advice on South America.
